Today we had our weekly meeting on sunday afternoon/evening. As usual we played some games, but they were not interesting enough to save the replays - just usual train.

Warcraft III Accounts Closed - Nebu

A number of additional accounts and CD keys have been tied to the use of a hack or cheat program while playing Warcraft III on Battle.net. In keeping with our aggressive stance against cheating, we have permanently closed 12,000 Warcraft III accounts. 6,000 of the Warcraft III CD keys used with the now-closed accounts have been banned from ladder play for one month, and 1,000 more have been banned from ladder play permanently. Repeat offenders risk having their CD keys disabled, which will result in the permanent removal of their copies of Warcraft III from Battle.net.

We will continue to monitor Battle.net for cheating and take action as needed. If you would like to report additional instances of hacking or cheating, please notify us at hacks@blizzard.com. A false report filed by one player against another will not result in the actions described above.

Just a newspost concerning the meeting we had today...after it was quite hard to get together at 8pm, we startet a little later and had only 2 games:

According to the vote on our forums we decided to have two days for clanmeetings:

Friday - 20.00 Singapore time

Sunday - 20.00 Singapore time

After few weeks we will decide, whether we keep this order or concentrate on a single day.

Furthermore I want to announce, that we fixed some rules for this clan. As long as we have no special place for publishing them on this website, members will have to use the internal clanboard to take a look at them.

Again I feel the need to honour the efforts of our chieftain Metal.Jaded, who reached the lvl 40-barrier yesterday.
You may see his Battle.Net-profile here. If ur thinking now, that his about 50%-stats mean anything bad - it's the opposite: The new AMM sorted Jaded out to be too gosu, so he had hardest enemies from the very beginning.
According to his own opinion, and noone will know it better, the AMM possibly overestimated his skills in the beginning, making it a hardship for him to constantly win.
Furthermore I have to state, that Jaded is not one of those players simply following the strategies of famous "pros", in fact he prefers making use of several unusual strategies like "mass bats", as u can even read in his profile

Anyway: Congratulations to Metal.Jaded, might the power be with you. ;)

The Scourge of Metal Refinement is becoming stronger again. After months of inactivity, one of our most reputable players is back: Metal.Van aka Metal.Lurker.
For those who don't know him yet: Lurker is member since RoC-times and was the first one reaching 1000 wins on ladder.
furthermore he's a friend of Metal.SHiNe`tO since 10 years in RL.
So welcome back, Lurker!

Since the "Official Defence of the Ancients" homepage and forum is obviously down, someone created a New DotA Page where u can download the newest DotA versions. Please also mention the other links listed on this page.
Of course we added this page to our Links, too.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about: Dota (Defence of the Ancients) is a funmap for TFT. Two battling parties, Scourge and Sentinels, try to find their way into the enemies base for destroying the important main-building being

protected there. Each of the five players per team controls one of over 50 different heros, defending the own "capital", fighting the opposite party. Nine strong towers and spawning units support the players forces and help to create an atmosphere of constant clashes and fights.

I just want to announce, that an old friend of our clanmates finally decided to join Metal Refinement
- Welcome Metal.Shien - might the power of the Human Alliance be with you.

Some things seem to happen faster, than we ever expected them to. In my last newspost I foreshadowed level 6 to be our next goal in the Solo Clan Ladder - today we crossed this experience-barrier.

Finally we managed to reach our goal, climbing the solo games clanladder to rank 100.

To be honest, I'm a bit proud, because it took us so long (it is very competetive), but some players never gave up to fight for this position
Especially Metal.Jaded, Heartcutter and Metal.Charon (*g*) contributed to this success, althought I of course didn't forget about all the other players, who spent hours and hours to increase our rank - thanks for your effort.

The new patch has been released today after few weeks of beta-testing. Included are loads of bugfixes, (im)balance-changes and even two new Heros (Goblin Alchemist and Firelord - aka "Imbalord").
For getting the patch simply connect to one of the four Battle.Net-Realms or visit this page for FTP-download.
